***IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PARENTS OF CHILDREN AGES 3-5****

If you are the parent of a preschool child between the ages of 3 – 5 and you have concerns about an area of your child’s development, you are encouraged to call to schedule a preschool screening for your child. Screening will include the areas of vision, hearing, fine motor, gross motor, speech/language, and cognitive functioning as needed.

Special education services are available for preschoolers in Manchester City Schools beginning at age 3 years.

PRESCHOOL ASSESSMENT

Manchester City Schools provides individual educational programs for students meeting the state criteria for special education. Students with special needs who meet criteria, are able to begin receiving services through the school system on their third birthday. Referrals for the special education pre-K program come from a variety of places including school district preschool screenings, pediatrician’s offices, community agencies, Tennessee Early Intervention Services (TEIS), as well as parent referrals. If at any time, you have a concern regarding the development of a child between the ages of three and five, please contact Beth Marchesoni or Cari Pugh at  723-4704.
